Application process

<p>Applications for a new Social Security number or a replacement Social Security card may be started <a href="https://www.ssa.gov/number-card" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="underline text-blue-700">online</a>. After starting an application online, applicants must visit their local Social Security office with their required documentation within <strong>45 calendar days</strong>.</p>
