Hospital Advocacy | Cleveland Rape Crisis Center

Provides support and assistance in the hospital emergency room to victims of rape, incest, and sexual assault as well as the families of those assaulted. Volunteers meet survivors at the hospital and stay with the victim through the physical exam and the police report. Volunteers bring a kit for survivor, which includes clothes.

Application process

Phone hotline for a hospital advocate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Those who have experienced a rape or sexual assault within the past 72 hours should go to an Emergency Room with a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (See: SANE programs), unless they require immediate medical attention (in which case they need to go to nearest ER).
