RESIDENTIAL STATE SUPPLEMENT PROGRAM | OHIO DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION SERVICES
Provides financial assistance to adults with low incomes who have a disability that is not severe enough to require long-term care at a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, or hospital. Individuals use RSS to supplement income, to pay the monthly allowable fee, rent, or accomodations, supervision, and personal care services at approved living arrangements in the community. Individuals use the supplement along with their Social Security, SSI, and/or SSD income.

Eligibility
Adults age 18 and older; enrolled in Medicaid or Medicaid-eligible; and receiving social security, SSI and/or SSD benefits. Individuals must currently live in or planning to live in an adult care facility or Class Two Residential Facility. Financial eligibility is determined by local County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS), typical monthly income up to $1,300 to qualify for RSS.
