NATIONAL HUMAN TRAFFICKING HOTLINE | POLARIS PROJECT
A national, toll-free hotline, available to answer calls from anywhere in the United States, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in more than 200 languages. The Hotline’s mission is to connect human trafficking victims and survivors to critical support and services to get help and stay safe, and to equip the anti-trafficking community with the tools to effectively combat all forms of human trafficking. The Hotline offers round-the-clock access to a safe space to report tips, seek services, and ask for help. By knowing the warning signs and being willing to report suspicious activity, all Ohioans can help end this tragic crime. Sex Trafficking * Moves often * Talks about traveling to other cities * Runs away from home * Has a "boyfriend" who is much older * Seems to be controlled (rarely alone, kept away from family and friends) * Shows signs of physical abuse, starvation * Does not have IDs (driver's license, passport) Labor Trafficking * Appears to live at or near a workplace (cots or sleeping bags may be visible in the back room of a business) * Experiences restricted movement * Works with a large group of people in a small space * Shows signs of physical abuse, isolation, starvation * Works long hours and is not free to leave * Does not have IDs (driver's license, passport, immigration documents) To report activity you think may be related to human trafficking or to seek help, contact the National Human Trafficking Resource Center at 888-373-7888. This 24-hour hotline sends information directly to Ohio's local anti-trafficking coalitions.
