EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE | CUYAHOGA COUNTY DIVISION OF SENIOR AND ADULT SERVICES

Offers a one-time payment assistance of up to $500 to help with utility bills (gas, electric, sewer, water.) May be able to help with rent as well as with moving expenses. Additional funds over $500 may be available depending on the special circumstances of the client.

Eligibility

Cuyahoga County adults aged 60 or older, or those 18 to 59 years of age with a disability with proof of SSDI. Income at or below 200% of the 2024 Federal Poverty Level ($30,120). Client, spouse, or household member is active in ongoing services with any DSAS Program. Those needing assistance who are not current DSAS clients should be referred to Centralized Intake to begin the application process. Must have income if looking for rent assistance. Clients may only use this service once. For rent assistance, client must be facing eviction to qualify for assistance.
