Founded in 1914 as Peoples Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Akron General has grown to a 532-bed, adult, tertiary-care, not-for-profit teaching hospital. Owns and operates Edwin Shaw Rehabilitation Institute, a licensed 35-bed rehabilitation hospital. Provides community locations in Akron, Green, Stow, Tallmadge and West Akron as well as an additional off-campus outpatient surgery center as well as outpatient rehabilitation center locations throughout Summit County. Also offers regional referral centers in Cardiovascular Medicine, Cardiac Surgery, Cancer Care, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Women's Health. Operates Lodi Community Hospital serving portions of Lorain, Ashland and Wayne Counties and southwest Medina County.
