Provides a coordinated, community-based infrastructure that promotes trans-disciplinary, family centered services for expectant parents, newborns, infants, toddlers and their families. Help Me Grow provides the following services: - Identifies children with or at risk for developmental delays or disabilities. - Provides screenings for health, hearing, vision and development. - Provides parents with information about their child’s social and emotional development that lays the foundation for later school success. - Assures parents have information on the importance of early childhood health, nutrition, and literacy. - Connects children at age three with appropriate preschool services. Program administered by Lorain County Children and Families Council. In Lorain County, Catholic Charities also is a participating service coordination agency.

Application process
Call Help Me Grow Central Intake line at 1-800-755-4769 for more information if you have concerns about an infant or toddler’s language, feeding, walking, handling of toys, seeing, hearing or playing alone or with others. Hospitals, physicians, clinics and daycare centers will often inform parents of services or make a referral to the program on their behalf.
Fee
Services available at no cost for eligible children and families: family assessment, transition services, family support services, developmental screening, developmental evaluation and ongoing assessments and Service coordination.
Eligibility
Any child, ages birth to 3 may be determined eligible based on the following: - If an evaluation of the child’s development is shown to be delayed. - If the child has a medically diagnosed physical or mental condition that has a high chance of resulting in a developmental delay in one or more of the following areas: Cognitive Development, Physical Development, Communication Development, Social/Emotional Development, and Adaptive Development. - If a child is up to six months old born to a single first time mother with an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. - If a pregnant first mother has an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. - If a mother or father or the child up to three years old is in active military duty.
