Evaluates cases where: - Applicant has a pending removal proceeding in Cleveland immigration court AND lives in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Geauga, Lake, or Ashtabula County, or was referred by another immigration advocacy organization (such as Catholic Charities, Asian Services in Action or Building Hope in the City), or the applicant is being detained in Geauga County Jail; - Applicant is the victim of domestic violence, trafficking, or other crime (whether crime occurred in applicant’s home country, during applicant’s journey to the United States or in the United States), or applicant is under the age of 18 years old; - Applicant would like to file a family-based petition, is married, recently divorced, the parent of an abusive United States citizen or legal permanent resident (LPR), or seeking custody/guardianship of a child who has an immigration issue; - Applicant is seeking to apply for naturalization; - Applicant would like to request bond. If case is Board of Immigration appeal level or above, Legal Aid must have represented this client in the underlying case.
