Agency info

Developmental Disabilities Of Clark Co.

Since the early 1960s, Developmental Disabilities of Clark County has provided information, support, and services for people with a developmental disability such as intellectual disability, autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or traumatic brain injury. We currently assist over 1,400 Clark County residents throughout their lives with funding, support, safeguards, and connections with partner agencies. Much of what we do takes place in the community, where individuals with developmental disabilities live, work, and participate as everyday citizens. Our mission is to empower people who have developmental disabilities to achieve their fullest potential. We offer quality training for partner agencies to attain certification from the state in order to work for individuals with developmental disabilities. We provide job skill training so that adults with developmental disabilities can be successfully employed and become more self-sufficient. We arrange housing and independent living options so people with developmental disabilities can be assured that their needs will be met when family members can no longer care for them. We also assure services for children and adults with severe disabilities that would be too costly for families to afford.
