Application process
To receive the highest level of care, individuals who indicate the rape occurred within the past 72 hours may walk-in for service, 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. SANE nurses are on call, and will be paged when requested. Those requesting service may have to wait short while until the SANE nurse arrives at the hospital. Physicians will provide any needed emergency health care and will direct individuals to nurses following care. Regardless of when the rape happened, individuals may call the Rape Crisis hotline for additional services.
Fees
Emergency medical services are as assessed for other hospital services. Legal exam and evidence collection are free. Accepts most insurance.Third party payment accepted, including Medicaid and Medicare. Those who have no health insurance must have household income at or below 400% of federal poverty guidelines to apply for financial help. Those living further than 150 miles from the main site may have other requirements.

Provides a private, confidential area, staffed by nurses who have been specifically trained to care for individuals who have experienced sexual assault or rape. Service includes a complete physical assessment and, if needed, evidence is collected in a sensitive manner. Medical, legal, and emotional support is also provided. Provides screening for domestic violence issues also.
