Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training is a nationally recognized program that teaches law enforcement safe and effective approaches to handling crisis incidents involving an individual living with mental illness. The intensive 4-day training is conducted under the instructional supervision of local CIT-trained police officers, mental health professionals, consumers, and family advocates and will offer practical techniques for de-escalating crisis situations. Companion Courses use some of the CIT Academy curriculum adapted for Dispatchers, Courts and Jail Personnel, Behavioral Health Professionals, and others.

Responsible for planning, monitoring, and evaluating the publicly funded behavioral health system of care for residents of Miami, Darke and Shelby counties. Mental health and substance abuse prevention and treatment services are provided by contract agencies. Fees for these services are based on a person's ability to pay through a sliding fee scale - no one is denied service because of the inability to pay.
