Eligibility

Serves students entering Kindergarten in the Akron Public Schools. Students in the Buchtel Cluster (including Crouse, Helen Arnold, and Schumacher Community Learning Centers) have priority enrollment.

Hours

Held year round beginning in the summer before entering Kindergarten. - Summer academy is held for three (3) weeks Monday through Friday from 8:15am to 1:15pm. - School year days and times vary by location. Call for details.

Description

Offers a literacy-based program that is designed to increase school readiness and parent involvement by preparing children for the transition to Kindergarten and supporting them in the first year. Provides year round programming starting in summer before entering Kindergarten. School year programming Includes Parents as Partners programming. School year programming includes Parent/Caregiver Workshops, Family Fun Nights, Breakfast and Educational Fun with Santa, Very Important Parent/Caregiver Breakfast, Bridge to First Grade dinner and informational event.
