Children age birth through 17 with special needs such as: behavioral or emotional issues, or a sibling group. Foster parents must be age 21 or older and reside in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina, Stark, and Summit Counties.
Referring agency will provide the case file.
24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
Referring agency (generally, a county agency such as: Juvenile Court, Children and Family Services, or Board of Mental Health) must phone with the referral, M-F: 8:30am-5:00pm. In case of emergency after 5:00pm, the caller will be given a number to call to reach a worker. Interested foster parents may phone for information M-F: 8:30-5:00pm.
Fixed fee, paid for by the referring agency (generally, a county agency such as: Juvenile Court, Children and Family Services, or Board of Mental Health).

Provides foster care for emotionally troubled children (including those with severe emotional issues as well as those who may have suffered abuse or neglect) whose needs may be greater than those addressed by traditional foster care. Aims to build children's self-confidence; improve communication and interpersonal skills; reduce risk taking behavior; and boost academic performance. Also provides families for groups of siblings and older adolescents (who are often more difficult to place). Foster parents are trained to use parenting techniques designed for children with emotional and behavioral problems. Recruits and provides training to families who would like to become foster parents to the children in this program.

Provides foster care for special needs children, community respite care, group homes, juvenile justice programs, as well as various educational services.
