- Eligible consumers who apply, coverage effective on the first day of the month they are accepted. - Once a consumer is signed up for Medicaid, eligibility reviewed annually. - There is no limited enrollment period for Medicaid. However, consumers ineligible for Medicaid can only buy health insurance during annual open enrollment periods from the Health Insurance Marketplace. Open enrollment generally is from November 1st through December 15th each year. - NOTE: Open enrollment continues through January 15th. Enrollments after December 15th through January 15th would start coverage on February 1st.

Or call the Medicaid hotline to request an application be mailed to a household. Eligibility
- Serves Ohio residents residing in Lorain County age 65 and under. - Must be a United States citizen or meet Medicaid citizenship requirements. - Must have or get a Social Security number. - Children age 19 and under without other health insurance, must live in a household with income at or below 206% of the Federal Poverty Guideline Level after MAGI is applied. Must apply for more details. - Children age 19 and under with other health insurance, must live in a household with income at or below 156% of the Federal Poverty Guideline Level after MAGI is applied. Must apply for more details. - Adult women who are pregnant, must have a household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline Level after MAGI is applied. Must apply for more details. - Adults who are not pregnant, must have a household income below 133% of the Federal Poverty Guideline Level after MAGI is applied. Must apply for more details.
