Eligibility

Heat source must come from Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) regulated company (AEP, Columbia Gas). Must be at or below 175% of poverty guidelines. Applicant must be a US citizen.

Required documents

Proof of citizenship for primary applicant. Photo ID. Social security cards for household. Proof of gross income for the last 30 days for everyone over 18 in household. Self-employed and seasonal workers will have to provide last 12 months of income. Copy of most current electric/gas bill. If utility is shut off or service is being transferred to another address, copy of the lease is required.

Appointment hours will vary, will be able to choose when scheduling appointment. Administrative hours: Mon-Fri 7 am-5 pm.

PIPP Plus is an extended payment arrangement that requires regulated gas and electric companies to accept payments based on a percentage of the household income. If individuals heat with gas or electric, they pay five percent of their monthly household income. If they heat and cool with electricity, they pay ten percent of your monthly household income. Deposits are waived for PIPP customers.
