Offers budget billing and extended payment plans to help customers make affordable payments and maintain gas and electric service. Budget billing spreads out the cost of energy used during high-demand times of the year, avoiding sharp increases for winter heating and summer cooling. The Winter Heating Season Plan, requires customers to pay 1/3 of their total account balance each month from November through April 15. The One-Sixth Plan requires customers to pay six equal monthly payments on their past-due amount in addition to their current bill. The One-Ninth Plan requires customers to pay nine equal monthly payments on their past-due amount in addition to their monthly budget payment. Some utilities may offer other emergency payment plans.
