CHILD SUPPORT - SUPPORT ORDERS, MODIFICATION, AND ENFORCEMENT | CUYAHOGA COUNTY JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES
Establishes and enforces court orders requiring support for unmarried adults (can be a child support order or alimony). Assists all recipients (unmarried juveniles or adults, or divorced persons) who may need modification of a support order. Takes whatever court or administrative actions are legally available and necessary to achieve compliance with court orders for child or spousal support. May include filing motions, attachment of wages, seizing assets, professional license revocation, prosecution under felony criminal non-support laws, and other actions as required. Ohio law allows that either parent may request a review and modification of the support order every 36 months or earlier if either parent has been unemployed at no fault of their own for 30 consecutive days, experienced at least a 30% change in income (beyond their control) for a period of six months, or becomes permanently disabled.

Phone for information or appointment M-F: 8:00am-4:30pm. Clients can use drop boxes in the entryway to return any paperwork in documents drop box and/or submit check or money order only in payment drop box. Client may also get basic information on their case via live web chat M-F: 10:00am-2:00pm through the web site. Child Support payment history and balance due is only available through web portal or automated phone line. Those experiencing issues with web chat, web portal, or who need to change their Personal Identification Number (PIN) can call the Technical Support line M-F: 8:00am-4:30pm.

Operates several Neighborhood Family Service Centers which provide cash benefits (such as Ohio Works First welfare benefits), food assistance (food stamps), medical coverage, employment/training assistance, child care vouchers, and supportive services to Cuyahoga County residents who meet eligibility requirements. Clients are assigned to a Service Center according to their zip code. Spanish-speaking staff are available.
