Description

Provides Emergency Home Repair grants and 0%-interest, partially forgivable home rehabilitation loans to homeowners lacking resources to repair and maintain their owned and occupied one-family housing units. Emergency home repair grants generally apply to furnaces and hot water heaters, but may also apply to water/sewage systems, accessibility improvements, and lead-based paint abatement. Rehabilitation Loans may be applied toward non-emergency improvements to substandard housing conditions related to the same areas as well as foundation work, roofs, gutters, electrical upgrades, plumbing, insulation, windows, doors, siding, and so forth. Emergency Home Repairs are capped at $8,000, and that amount must be able to remedy the situation in full. Rehabilitation Loans are capped at $35,000.
