Application process

- Call 2-1-1 to be screened for eligibility. Homeless families should select prompts for Homeless Hotline. Note: Applicants will hear back within 4-5 weeks weeks due to high demand for assistance at this time. No information about application status will be available until 4-5 weeks after application. - If determined to be ineligible for the program, individuals will be referred to other appropriate resources that may be able to assist them.

Eligibility

- Must be a resident of Summit County. - Must have a housing voucher from Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA) and need assistance with a rental deposit. - Must be pregnant or have minor children in the home. - Must have an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. - Must have sufficient income to sustain housing after assistance is provided (at least twice the monthly rent amount.) - Must not have already received housing assistance through PRC/TANF in the last 18 months. - Must be a U.S. Citizen. NOTE: If a client has an AMHA voucher and is seeking assistance to move to a new unit, one or more of the following must be applicable: - Voucher client has had an increase in household size and were issued a voucher to move to a larger residence. - Landlord refuses or fails to respond back to Housing staff when attempting to assist with rent debts.
