The Probation Department acts as the matrix for the Municipal Court, relative to sentencing. It is an integral part of the Community-Based Correction Program for the Court and with the Probation Department goals, the Court can be satisfied and the community can be served in the best fashion. Licking County Municipal Court
This court has jurisdiction over all traffic and criminal misdemeanors that occur in Licking County, Ohio. The Court also handles preliminary matters in felony cases and has jurisdiction over civil cases involving claims of up to $15,000.00. In addition, the Licking County Municipal Court has a Small Claims Division. Small Claims Court hears disputes for money damages ONLY, in amounts not to exceed $3,000.
