Rental/mortgage Assistance | Impact Community Action

Provides emergency rent/mortgage payment assistance for those facing eviction to prevent homelessness for households that are experiencing situational poverty or crisis. This program helps prevent homelessness. Generally will provide up to $1000 in assistance until monthly allocation of funds has been depleted. Rental assistance can be obtained once per year.

Application process

IMPACT is focused on assisting individuals/households that have scheduled Eviction Court hearings. IMPACT is present at Eviction Court every day to assist eligible households with completing an application for limited assistance. Assistance is limited and may not cover the entire amount that someone may owe to their landlord. No walk-ins, must have a scheduled hearing.

Eligibility

All Emergency Assistance Programs/Services serve Franklin County households. Normal rental assistance program is 175% FPL and max is $1,000 per household. Must have a documented qualifying emergency to receive up to ($1000) assistance. Must have a source of income. Can only be behind one month in rent or mortgage unless clients have the balance needed to be current. If renting, must have eviction or three-day notice. Must reside in Franklin county.
