Provides a HUD-funded program that assists very low-income families with rental payments. Voucher Program - Rental assistance is for very low-income families or very low income individuals who already rent or wish to rent privately owned units. Families find their own place to live and the Housing Authority enters into a contract with the landlord/owner and with the applicant/tenant to provide rental assistance to the landlord on behalf of the tenant; mortgage assistance for eligible participants may be available. Waiting lists are maintained for all programs.
