LEAD HAZARD REPAIR GRANT PROGRAM - CLEVELAND | COMMUNITY HOUSING SOLUTIONS

Provides lead remediation services which may include clean-up, painting, and new windows to homes that have been identified as having lead hazards. Agency contracts with outside companies that have been approved to provide these services.

Eligibility

Home must be in the city of Cleveland and must have been built before 1978. A child age five years or less must be living in the home or visit the home more than 20 hours each week (such as a childcare situation), or a pregnant woman must be living in the home. Income limits vary depending on if the client owns the home or if they rent. For owner-occupied houses, income must be 80% Area Median Income (AMI) or less (yearly income, household of one: $41,300; two: $47,200; three: $53,100; four: $58,950; five: $63,700). For renters, yearly household income limit for one is 50% AMI (household of one: $25,800; two: 29,500; three: $33,200; four: $36,850; five: $39,800). Lead hazards must be identified in the home (free lead inspection provided to all eligible households). Will serve those who are renting (with landlord's written approval), but landlord will have to pay $600 towards the project. Property taxes must be current or in an approved payment plan with the County Treasurer. Property must not be in foreclosure.
