Handles inquires concerning the welfare or whereabouts of Americans traveling or living abroad. Attempts to locate the person abroad when family or friends believe that person may be missing, sick, under arrest, affected by a natural disaster, abuse/neglect (children) or other emergency situations. Will also locate the person in order to deliver an emergency message (such as a death in the family) from their family in the U.S., when the family does not know their whereabouts.
