Eligibility

  • No restrictions for receiving election information.
-To vote in an upcoming election an individual must be registered to vote. The voter must register to cast an absentee ballot or visit their assigned precinct and polling location on Election Day. The voter must bring identification to the polls in order to vote a regular ballot on Election Day.

Voters must bring identification to the polls in order to vote a regular ballot on Election Day. NOTE: The polling location notice mailed to registered voters or identification cards issued by board of elections cannot be used as proof of identification. Proper Identification:
  • Ohio driver license, State of Ohio ID card, or interim ID form issued by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV).
  • A United States (U.S.) passport or U.S. passport card.
  • A U.S. military ID card, U.S. military dependent ID card, Ohio National Guard ID card, or U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card.
NOTE: Voters who do not provide photo ID will still be able to vote by providing the last four digits of the voter's social security number and by casting a provisional ballot. Voters who do not have any of the above forms of identification, including a social security number, will still be able to vote by signing an affirmation swearing to the voter's identity under penalty of election falsification and by casting a provisional ballot. If identification is not provided at the time the provisional ballot is cast, the provisional voter may provide a valid form of identification in person at the Board of Elections during the four (4) days following Election Day.
