A peer has a similar lived experience and specialized training that models recovery while providing hope to clients with substance use and/ or mental health disorder diagnoses. They provide recovery support, link to community resources, connect to the recovery community, and establish relapse prevention plans. Services may be provided in the home, office, or virtually.
