VETERAN BENEFITS ASSISTANCE | VETERAN CENTER FOR READJUSTMENT

The program goals are to provide our clients and their significant others with a range of services to assist in dealing with readjustment problems that may be related to the military-to-civilian transition, including but not limited to, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), military sexual trauma (MST), hostile environments, bereavement and the war on global terror. The Vet Center can help you cope with stress, achieve self-esteem, get a fresh start and achieve your goals. Individual, group, marriage and family counseling is offered in addition to referral and connection to other VA or community benefits and services. Vet Centers are staffed with professionals experienced or trained in working with veterans. Counselors come from many disciplines including psychology, social work, professional clinical counseling and marriage and family therapy. Many staff members are veterans themselves.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Services Active Duty Service Members – members of the Armed Forces, including reserve components, who: • served on active duty in a theater of combat operations or, • served in an area at a time during which hostilities occurred in that area or, • remotely controlled an unmanned aerial vehicle engaged in combat with an enemy of the United States or against an opposing military force in a theater of combat operations or, • provided direct emergency medical or mental health care, or mortuary services to the causalities of combat operations or hostilities within or outside the theater of combat operations or area of hostilities.
